Asian Sisters Participating In Reaching Excellence (ASPIRE) is a Boston based nonprofit whose mission is "to build and empower a community of Asian American women leaders through identity development, mentorship, and education". They have a virtual Youth Leadership Program (YLP) for high school students and a Mentorship program for young professionals where Asian girls and women from all over the nation participate. They have been hosting their Asian American Women In Leadership (AAWIL) Conference since 2004, which "has been the only leadership conference in the nation dedicated to Asian American female students and professionals". Their last in-person conference was in 2019, also at Simmons University. They were sponsored by Asian Women for Health, South Cove Community Health Center, and Wayfair. Their latest one was a virtual conference in 2020, and people from all over the nation joined. After a hiatus due to COVID-19, ASPIRE is returning to collaborate with Simmons' Asian Student Association (ASA) to host their AAWIL conference once again. While this event highlights the social, academic, and professional empowerment of Asian girls and women in high school, college, and careers, this event is open to everyone! The event will have breakfast and lunch catered from Aramark, a well known keynote speaker (TBD), a few workshops (TBD), and a few open discussions.
