Mission
Active Minds is an extremely important organization that should be implemented
throughout the Simmons community. A chapter of the National Active Minds
organization, Simmons Active Minds will provide valuable resources to the
community that will advocate for mental health awareness and education. By
advocating for a more thorough understanding of mental illness, we can help
create a community that is free of stigma and misinformation surrounding mental
illness. Following this, we can also help students learn how to better care for their
mental health in order to better combat mental illness early on before it takes a
large toll on the student. Active Minds will be a positive and prominent support
on campus for students and faculty alike.

Our mission is to promote unity, diversity, and excellence among African and Caribbean students on campus. We aim to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can celebrate their cultural heritage, build lasting relationships, and grow spiritually. Our roots come from the basis of Christian values, in which we use to guide us to love and serve one another, seek justice, and make a positive impact in our communities. Though the organizations roots are Christian, we include, support and celebrate any and all religions, and backgrounds!

The Art & Music Liaison is open to all communities within Simmons University, including, but not limited to full-time students, part-time students, graduate students, undergraduate students, Dix Scholars, faculty, and staff. Everyone is welcome here in this Liaison.

Mission
To celebrate Asian heritage and raise awareness about issues that affect Asian communities and empower members of ASA with a strong and unified voice in the Simmons University community through engaging in identity development and community building.

Membership Benefits
Membership shall comprise of general body members. General body members of the Asian Student Association shall be Simmons students interested in working towards the common purposes of the association. There are no particular requirements for membership and membership is not exclusive. For elections, only members of that year can vote.

Betsy's Friends is a unique peer education program designed to educate and support students around relationship violence, sexual harassment, and prevention. Betsy's Friends offers weekly private peer support hours, weekly meetings/events, and semesterly large-scale events about topics such as:
- Relationships
- Being a survivor
- How to help a friend experiencing relationship violence or sexual harassment.
- Navigating resources for survivors on campus, including, but not limited to, identity-specific resources, Title IX, and our Confidential Resource Persons
- Access to free safer sex supplies and period products
- Healthy boundaries and consent

Some recent favorite events include:

- Sexual Harm Reduction Kit-Making
- Identity Poetry
- Take Back the Night

*A note about privacy v. confidentiality: Peer Supporters can generally keep information that is shared with them private, however, Peer Supporters are required to report to the Title IX Coordinator information they receive about Sexual Harassment, as defined in the University's Sexual Harassment Policy for Students, Faculty, Staff, and Visitors, as well as report to University leadership information they receive regarding unlawful discrimination/harassment, or any existing or imminent danger to the Simmons community. Students who disclose information about their or others' experience of sexual harassment will be connected to the Title IX Coordinator, in which case students can expect to receive an email notifying them of supportive resources available to them. Students are never required to respond to, utilize, or accept such resources.

The Violence Prevention, Education, and Outreach (VPEO) Program sits within the REEF Support Center and aims to support student survivors of interpersonal violence. The VPEO is composed of Betsy's Friends, our dedicated team of Peer Supporters, as well as the Violence Prevention, Education, and Outreach Coordinator and the Director of the REEF Support Center, both of who serve as Simmons' Confidential Resource Persons. The VPEO provides confidential support (via the Confidential Resource Persons), peer support, and a variety of survivor-centered programs open to all members of the Simmons community.

BMU aims to be a safe space for everyone and also to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where members can strive and feel free to be themselves. The organization shall be known as the Chemistry and Physics Liaison. The Simmons University Chemistry and Physics Liaison is a student organization that focuses on increasing engagement between the students and faculty of the Simmons University Department of Chemistry and Physics.
